Blog Post #2

I had high hopes of a great time as I rode shotgun with my three best girlfriends to the airport.  The anticipation of arriving at our final destination was like electricity in the air as we sang our favorite songs at the top of our lungs. We laughed and told stories and talked about life, which helped pass the time of the three-hour drive.

We cheered as we exited the interstate to get to the airport. We navigated as a team through the unfamiliar city until we found our parking lot. We parked the car, unloaded our bags and hoped on the first shuttle we saw. We felt accomplished as we sat on the plane waiting for take off. In just two short hours we will be at our final vacation destination.

After we landed and picked up our bags we headed outside to the curb to hail a cab to our hotel. The feeling of the hot dry air was like a shock compared to the cold damp climate we were used to and it felt very nice.

The cab ride was very exciting. We enjoyed the sights of all the glitzy advertising as we rode down the boulevard to our extravagant roman themed resort in the desert.
After we checked into our room we looked out the windows and reveled in the view of the Eiffel tower, the skyline of NY, NY, the Pyramids of Egypt, and the canals of Venice. ALL ON THE SAME STREET!!!

We freshened up and set our to our first night on vacation, our first night on the town together. The night had endless possibilities and what happens here, stays here!

  1. Good descriptions, however, you definitely need to insert stronger images that evoke show over tell. Make the reader feel like they are there with you. Rather than just describing the scenes, the weather, etc., how might you use more descriptive word choice to really move the reader.

  2. Sounds like a great place to visit. After reading the post a couple of times I still can't figure out where you went. I do enjoy all the details of how your trip begun but maybe a little more detail about the place would help us figure out where you visited. I hope I will be able to know where you went because it sounds like a great place to visit.

  4. Sounds like a fun trip, was it Vegas? I think you did a really great job describing the feelings you experienced but it was lacking a little in describing the other senses. Great job though!
